What makes Choubey Silk fabrics distinctive?
Our collections combine Banarasi weaving traditions with contemporary colour, finish and design. We work with experienced artisans and carefully select fabrics for texture, consistency, visual richness and suitability for premium garments.
What types of fabric do you offer?
Our range includes Katan silk, Banarasi brocade, Rangkat, Kimkhab, satin brocade, zari fabrics, jacquards, Tanchoi, Matka, Tassar, Chiniya or spun silk, organza, tissue, embroidery fabrics and selected contemporary blends.
Are all fabrics handwoven?
A significant part of our collection is handwoven by Banarasi artisans. We also supply powerloom fabrics where uniformity, production speed or a different price point is required. Ask our team to confirm the weave type for a particular article.
How can I check authenticity and quality?
We assess yarn, weave, zari, finish and consistency during selection. Natural handloom irregularities are part of the character of handcrafted fabric. Silk Mark or composition information can be discussed for the specific product line you are considering.
What is the difference between Katan and Banarasi brocade?
Katan describes a silk yarn and smooth woven base made from twisted filaments. Banarasi brocade describes decorative motifs woven into the fabric, often with zari and sometimes on a Katan silk base.

Orders and Custom Requirements

Do you accept wholesale and bulk orders?
Yes. Wholesale and export supply is a core part of Choubey Silk. We work with designers, boutiques, retailers, labels and exporters in India and international markets. Share your fabric, colour, quantity and destination for a quotation.
Can individual customers buy from you?
Yes. Individual customers can enquire with Choubey Silk, visit Piyush Silk for an in-person retail experience in Varanasi, or use KashiFab for online retail and bulk requirements.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Minimum order quantity depends on the fabric, design, weave method, stock availability and whether production is customized. Handwoven and made-to-order articles may require a higher quantity or lead time.
Can I request custom colours, motifs or exclusive weaves?
Yes. Bespoke colour palettes, motifs and exclusive designs may be developed subject to technical feasibility, minimum quantity, sampling, production schedule and written approval.
Can I receive a sample before placing a bulk order?
Fabric swatches may be arranged so you can assess colour, texture, weave and finish. Sample availability, charges and shipping depend on the selected article and destination.
How is pricing calculated?
Pricing varies with fibre, weave, zari, design complexity, finishing, quantity and current yarn costs. Website or catalogue prices are indicative unless confirmed in a formal quotation or invoice.

Delivery, Use and Care

Do you deliver in India and internationally?
Yes. We serve buyers across India and ship to international destinations subject to carrier service, import rules and destination-specific charges. Transit estimates are provided when an order is confirmed.
How much fabric is generally required for a kurta or sherwani?
A kurta commonly requires about 2.5 to 3 metres, while a sherwani may require about 3.5 to 4.5 metres including lining considerations. Requirements vary by size, width, pattern placement and design, so confirm with your tailor before ordering.
How should Banarasi silk be cared for?
Professional dry cleaning is recommended. Store fabric in a breathable muslin or cotton cover away from direct sunlight and moisture. Avoid plastic storage for long periods and refold occasionally to prevent permanent creases.
