Kim Khab Fabric

Kimkhwab (or Khinkhwab) is one of India's most opulent handloom fabrics, historically reserved for royalty and famously described as a "fabric of dreams." It is a heavy brocade woven with such a high density of gold or silver zari threads that the silk base is almost entirely hidden. This technique creates a rich, three-dimensional texture with intricate motifs like shikar-gah (hunting scenes) or floral jaals. Due to its extreme weight and thickness, it is primarily used for wedding lehengas, sherwanis, and luxury home upholstery. Each piece is a masterpiece of Banarasi craftsmanship, symbolizing the pinnacle of traditional Indian textile art.
